CITRUS GREENING-HAUNGLONGBING REPORTED IN FLORIDA
WASHINGTON, Sept. 02, 2005--The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service today confirmed the first U.S. detection of Liberibacter asiaticus, or citrus greening, on pummelo tree leaf and fruit samples collected, tested and submitted by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). click here for more
A citrus greening task force is organized under Dr. K. Smith, from the Office of Pest Management Policy at USDA/APHIS in Washington DC. The CCPP has already offered its services and support to this force.
